Georgia on my mind.

Well haven't I been MIA lately? I feel awful but now that this new chapter is getting started, blogging is a big priority.

2 1/2 weeks ago (Sunday, September 22nd) I said "I do!" to my very best friend, protector, provider, encourager and lover. We had the most amazing day ever (Wedding pictures will be posted SOON!!! Yipee! Thank you, Erin Milnik!) and if I could put it on repeat, I would. (Thank the Lord for Videographers!!)

We knew going into the wedding that my now husband (swoon!) would have to leave two days after our special day to report to his first duty station of Fort Stewart, Georgia. (Thank you for your service, honey!) And I was not ready to say bye again, since we had just been reunited after 4 months.

Goodbyes never get easier and sure enough Tuesday morning at 5 am I said "see ya soon" to my precious husband. Well after making my way back up the hill to my parents house, the hubs told me I needed to be in Georgia, asap. So naturally I packed my carry on and bought a ticket that second.

One of the most spontaneous things I have ever done and I will forever cherish it. It was a long day of flying but the reward was so worth it, being greeted by my very own Husband! I now call Ft. Stewart, Georgia my "home". (Completely other side of the United States, from good ole Sonora, California, and everyone here can tell ;)

Life right now consist of an empty apartment, wifi, cookie dough, an air mattress and my best friend. I couldn't be happier! Thanks for sticking with this journey! I promise to get better at this blogging thing ;)

#thebroxhams (coming soon!!!)

So, in 36 days I get to vow to love, honor, cherish and pray for the most wonderful young man for the rest of my days. I have been so blessed by him and by Jesus. All the work that is being done to build a foundation for a godly marriage that glorifies Him has me in awe, seriously. So in honor of my sappiness and all my rants I've been on lately here is a little slideshow of us, #thebroxhams (almost!)

Therefore, what God has joined together, let man not separate.

a few of my favorite things

As of late, I've been head over heels in love with a few key materialistic items.

1. My beloved Mason Jar Tumblr from The Mason Bar Company

2. My Salt and Steel tee shirt and lady bro tank.

Both companies are Christ centered, and I love that. I just adore giving praise to our Lord through talents that He's given people.

The Mason Bar Company centers around the verse Jeremiah 29:11,

"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

The Creator, Bobbi lives in the same town as me and I'm also super on board for supporting local vendors. Her products travel near and far. So cool to see how someone from a small town can have an item that impacts all over!! Also, sipping pretty from a mason jar is probably the best way to sip a drink!

Salt and Steel has a mission statement that makes me want to drop everything I have to go serve Him! Pretty powerful, dontcha think?

"The Salt & Steel Collective is an action based clothing label that is driven by a group of creatives striving to live each day in the way Christ has called us to live. Love your neighbor. Through supporting global non-profit works, Salt & Steel is providing hope and alternate revenue streams for those on the front lines. Look around you, see the broken people, relationships, and lives. Live outside your expectation. Take time to love how you desire to be loved. Share how you wish others shared. Write your story. Pursue your legacy now."

Like come on people, does that not make you want to go make a difference. My shirts have been great conversation starters which have led me into sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ! Isnt that His goal for us? To be salt & light. I love how they break down the meaning of "Salt & Steel" :

"Salt is a natural element that is used for over 14,000

different purposes. Salt ads flavor, cleans, preserves, heals
and effects everything it comes in contact with. Steel is a blend of natural elements that have been nurtured and crafted to yield one of the strongest most widely used metals. It is known for being strong, durable, and malleable. We believe that we're called to be salt and light to the world by Jesus Christ, our Savior. He has enabled and gifted us in a number of ways. "

Now, go invest in their products and be blessed, friends.

Break it down, simple.

My lovely, lovely friend Alissa who so graciously designed this blog of mine came up with my title. She took bits and pieces of my life and turned it into the most perfect combination of words to describe me. (So blessed to have people like that in my life!)

Recruited for Hallelujah

I want to break it down. To understand it just THAT much more.

      re·cruit

 [ri-kroot]
         noun
   1.
a newly enlisted or drafted member of the armed forces.
(God's Army, as well as being directly connected to the United States Army, Hooah!)

hal·le·lu·jah

 [hal-uh-loo-yuh]
interjection
1.    Praise ye the Lord!

Seriously, so simple. And I love that.

Enlisted to Praise The Lord, YOU Lord.

We're all called to Glorify Him. Not the easiest task placed in front of us. But man, the simplicity of it... Praise.

My daily goal, daily, is to give "Hallelujah" in every situation. I pray that for you too, Brothers and Sisters.

Build

^ This. Is too good. So many great new worship songs coming out. This folky theme gets me too pumped and I cant help but dance around and sing this to my Savior. I recommend you give it a listen.

These lyrics ring so close. I'm so eager to start this next chapter in my life and go be His light and study His word way more in depth.

Build Your Kingdom Here, Lord.

Not that you care, But now you know :)

Muff ' said.

Since going Gluten Free about 2 months ago, I have been so motivated to make my own baked goods! Since 1) Tuolumne County does not carry a lot of GF items [depends on where you go to hunt! PriceCo. has a pretty decent selection & some local shops.]  2) Why not wake up earlier on a friday morning to bake some Cinnamon Streusel Muffins? Am I right, or am I right?

I started out with a box of "Gluten Free Pantry: Muffin & Scone Mix" (can be found online as well as most grocery stores!) follow the instructions to make the muffin option. You will need:

 - 6 TBSP of Softened Butter
- 1 CUP of Milk (I use 2%)
- 2 Eggs & 1/2 TSP of Gluten Free Vanilla Extract
+ the packaged dry ingredients!

I added 1 TBSP of Ground Cinnamon to the finished batter.

Streusel Topping:
[Combined all into a separate small bowl]

- 1/4 CUP Light Brown Sugar
- 2 TBSP of Almond Flour (such as Bob's Red Mill)
- 1/2 TSP Ground Cinnamon
- 2 TBSP Softened Butter

Oven should be preheating on 350 degrees. Once the batter is filled into your lined muffin pan, sprinkle the streusel mix on top of each muffin. Bake for 16 minutes, then Viola!

[I know I know, not the healthiest thing in the world...but it's Friday, so it's okay!]

I've already eaten two. Super simple. Super dangerous.
